Gilmours Havelock North Pharmacy has been established for over 50 years. Located at 10 Porter Drive, Havelock North in the heart of the village, the pharmacy prides itself on providing a personalized professional service. The current owner Liz Dixon took over the business in 2010 and has over 30 years pharmacy experience in New Zealand and the UK.
Gilmours is always evolving and continues to grow with our community. Our dedicated team offer a wide range of expertise over all products and services offered from our pharmacists, dispensing technicians and sales team.
We have introduced new professional services including Medicine Use Review, INR Monitoring for Warfarin Patients, Immunizations, and Compliance Packaging in both Medico and Sachet Roll format.
Our Team
Liz Dixon – Pharmacist, Managing Director
Owner and your main point of contact at Gilmours. With over 30 years pharmacy experience Liz has expanded her more traditional pharmacist role to include Nutritional and Environmental Medicine studies. Liz is the driver of our positive health initiatives. Always on the hunt for new products that work, Liz applies an innovative approach to pharmacy, delivering solutions backed by science.
Liz loves her job and we can tell. Customers are greeted with a quick smile and always feel part of the team. Whether it’s free advice, a private consultation for one of our many professional services, or a regular old script, she thrives on being busy and involved.
Peter Neal, Chris Sharp and Danielle Maulder – Pharmacists
We are extremely lucky that we have such a great group of pharmacists - a couple of previous business owners, and a young mum - that understand how important it is to look after people well. The pharmacy is always in good hands, with a great depth of knowledge and professionalism.
Sandra Vetter – Retail Manager, Head Buyer
Sandra is the reason why everyone loves Gilmours for gifts. A very talented lady who constantly changes the look of Gilmours. She loves her role so much we sometimes need to remind her to go home at the end of a day! Sandra does a fabulous job of buying a diverse range of goods that come together as an outstanding collection of gift including gorgeous pressies for baby, children’s clothing and homewares.

With many years of pharmacy experience between them our retail team work hard at looking after our customers and ensuring we get the right product for the right person. The girls pride themselves on exceptional customer service and our regulars know it! Always happy to help, the extra mile is such a regular occurrence we think they should be marathon runners!
Beauty – Simone and Caro
More great experience – these girls provide a welcome professionalism to skincare and make up consultations. They both come from years of selling high end brands and find the customer focused approach at Gilmours refreshing. Driven by a desire to please, the beauty team will look after your every need.
Dispensary Technicians – Lauren, Megan, Abbie and Abi
Our qualified dispensary technicians are extremely helpful and knowledgeable whether it’s in person or over the phone. Practicality is their middle name and they spend all day ensuring medication is delivered to the right people on time with minimum fuss. They are the engine room of the dispensary and provide an invaluable service to all.

Alan has been delivering to our regulars for years! Alan's helpful manner and ready smile brings joy to many of our home bound clients who look forward to his visits and chats. .
